    Chile Joins Rapidly Growing Cities Campaign

    Four cities from Chile recently joined the International Campaign for Compassionate Cities, including Santiago, Sierra Gorda, San Pedro Atacama and Antofagasta. Seventy cities are now participating in the rapidly growing global campaign.

    London, Ontario announced that its very own University Heights became the first Compassionate School in Canada.

    Appleton, WI’s Mosaic of Compassion

    Over 10,000 K-12 students created “compassionate” art panels, which were inspired, in part, by the Charter. The art projects are on display at the Trout Museum of Art.

    College Becomes “Compassionate Campus”

    Santa Barbara City College committed to being a compassionate university campus after being inspired by the Charter for Compassion. See their Facebook page for more information.

    Canada’s First Compassionate City

    With a population of over 350,000 people, London, Ontario became the first Compassionate City in Canada. London is one of eight compassionate city campaigns underway in Canada.

    Growing Compassionate Cities Campaign

    The International Institute for Compassionate Cities launched a new website with a library of resources for cities interested in committing to a Compassionate City campaign. Seattle, WA, Basalt, CO, and London, Ontario affirmed the Charter and 20+ cities are in various stages of the campaign including New Delhi, Chicago,IL, and Louisville, KY.

    International Golden Rule Day - April 5

    From March 28th – April 5th we tailored all of our social media posts on Facebook and Twitter to drive awareness of International Golden Rule Day and all of our partners’ work around the world. Partners from Canada to Jordan to Seattle contributed some amazing videos for our Facebook campaign. On Twitter we saw tons of support of the hashtag we created “#goldenruleday” with daily Golden Rule quotes! Check out our YouTube page for some of the inspiring videos.

    Colorado Town Joins Compassionate City Campaign in the US

    Basalt, CO became the second city in the world to affirm the Charter for Compassion and declare its support for a 10-year Compassionate Cities campaign.

    Pakistan launches the Charter for Compassion

    Our partners in Pakistan have launched the Charter for Compassion this week with an extensive lecture series featuring Karen Armstrong. The Charter for Compassion Pakistan will implement the charter across various sectorss of  society in Pakistan including compassion-based curriculum and activities for schools, universities, corporate, and media sectors.
