Louisville Peace Works

Under the umbrella of the Louisville Bar Association, in conjunction with others in the community, Louisville Peace Work seeks to create and sustain a Peace and Diplomacy commission for Louisville and developing a model of a “City of Peace and Diplomacy” on the individual, local, national and international levels. We are working to build or enhance the legal, political and business infrastructure to make Louisville a North American “destination” for international peace talks. We are developing a peace prize to recognize local, regional and international efforts in peace and diplomacy. We are connecting sister organizations who promote peace, diplomacy, racial and ethnic harmony, spirituality, conflict resolution, hunger relief or positive social services in our community and outside of our community (collectively called “PAX IAM,” meaning “peace now”). We envision creating “peace cells” to advance the causes of peace and diplomacy and PAX IAM and create a “franchise” that may be freely duplicated by other cities, towns and individuals.
