Recent events have put Pakistan in the spotlight. The shooting of schoolgirl activist Malala Yousafzai aroused world sympathy and
outrage. But there is always encouraging news from our partners in Pakistan. The Charter Pakistan is in the forefront of the compassionate education movement. Their work is inspiring teachers and students worldwide.

This village of 6,000 is special — it is the first official “compassionate village” in the world. We updated you a few months later when the children of the village held a "Compassionate Living Day." And now, Naween Mangi, who runs the Ali Hasan Mangi Memorial Trust which has led the compassionate movement, has shared a series of posters created by children at the community center -- posters on the theme of compassion.
