Fawakih Summer Arabic Program
Education
The Enrichment Program is a set of twelve evening lectures held throughout the course of the two months which offer students the chance to apply the Arabic skills learned during the day to relevant Quranic verses and Hadith. They are also an opportunity for community members to benefit from the Fawakih environment by enrolling in the part-time program.
During this year's Enrichment Program, the Fawakih instructors will be developing an Islamic Commentary to Karen Armstrong's book, "Twelve Steps To A Compassionate Life" while discussing 40 Prophetic Sayings, Hadith, related to Compassion.
For example:
“The merciful are shown mercy by the All-Merciful. Have mercy to those on earth, and the Lord of the
Heavens will have mercy upon you.” and "None of you truly believes until he loves for his brother that which he loves for himself."
