Participate in an Event

Since the launch of the Charter on November 12, 2009, people around the world continue to organize events, large and small, to celebrate the Charter and its message of compassion. Event types include discussions, workshops, concerts, art fairs, writing competitions, lectures, debates, town halls, public readings and much more.

Here are some tips to get started:

  1. Find a local organization, house of worship, school, company or group of friends in your area with whom you can organize the event.
  2. Contact the organization, school, company, etc.
  3. Determine what kind of event you want to hold. Check out events already posted on the site for inspiration.
  4. Create a core organizing team.
  5. Use an online event organizing site like Eventbrite or Facebook to help arrange the event.
  6. Post your event on the Charter for Compassion website.
  7. Document your event via photos and video to post on the Charter website.
