We need your help now to bring the principles of the Charter for Compassion to life in cities, towns and villages around the world, in schools and businesses, in churches, mosques, temples and synagogues everywhere.
The Charter for Compassion has inspired some amazing results!
Cities and towns such as Gaziantep in Turkey, Khairo Dero in Pakistan, and Al Majara in Dubai, have signed the Charter and have been joined by enthusiastic allies in places as diverse as Addis Ababa in Ethiopia, Antofagasta, Chile and Barcelona, Spain, and Seattle, Washington, and Louisville, Kentucky. Groups in scores of other cities are working to the same end.
In Pakistani schools, young people are studying lessons highlighting the theme of compassion in their existing subjects, with videos, posters, discussions, and compassionate service in their communities. In Seattle, Cleveland High School now has its first for-credit compassion course for high school students. In Basalt, Colorado, middle school kids have become pen pals with their contemporaries in Lahore, Pakistan.
In September, the Islamic Society of North America (ISNA)—the largest Muslim organization in North America—affirmed the Charter and called upon all ISNA Mosques to become Compassionate Mosques, dedicated to gender equality, interfaith harmony, and to positive work in the community. Globally, mosques, churches, temples and synagogues are affirming the Charter and creating practical programs to bring compassionate action into their gatherings and broader communities.
Businesses, business leaders and business schools worldwide are exploring the importance of compassionate action to any business’s productivity and efficiency as well as to the health of the global economy.

We’ll be working to inspire, connect, integrate, and support communities, institutions, and individual members of the network by sharing best practices, successful models, lessons learned, curricula and training materials, templates and course plans, and, especially, inspiring stories of success.
