Music for Veterans

Music for Veterans is a Non-Profit organization with the mission to Improve the quality of life for Veterans and their families by providing an environment of Creativity and Camaraderie that facilitates Healing & Peace through playing a Musical Instrument.

Playing a musical instrument provides creative expression, communication, healing and peace. Just 30 minutes a day is enough to create a dramatic improvement in mood and long term happiness.

Many service men and women suffer physical and emotional injuries and the effects of Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) leading to problems such as broken families, drug addiction, depression, homelessness and suicide.

Music for Veterans offers a life-long method of attaining peace through learning to play a musical instrument. This non-traditional "Music Therapy" is an effective, easy, and fun method of addressing emotional issues.

The real impact of this program comes from the fact that many Vets are reluctant to seek treatment because they believe the “stigma” of a label such as PTSD will follow them throughout their lives making it difficult to find a job and provide for their families.

Veterans who will NOT participate in a VA program freely participate in our program because no government records are kept on their participation in the Music for Veterans program.

Latest statistics from US Census Bureau, Office of the Deputy Adjutant General for Veterans Affairs state that 6% of soldiers returning from war commit suicide.
