The Compassionate School Network initiative is the first of its kind in the world and is a locally grown initiative and idea inspired by the Charter for Compassion.
The Compassionate School Network Overview
What we aim for?
The objective of the Compassionate School Network (CSN) is to give educators the tools and training they need to teach compassion. The goal is to empower compassionate youth who will then grow up to become compassionate adults, bringing about a significant shift in the environment of the school system and a more tolerant, peaceful society.
How we work?
We at CfC aspire to transform societies through education and training; while through our innovative social programs we hope to inspire more compassionate actions. After the successful implementation of the network in schools across the country, we hope to expand to universities and school across Pakistan and globally.
Compassion is a SKILL
Each lesson uses activities, projects, class exercises, and dialogue-based discussion activities to explore nine compassionate skills (e.g. Mindfulness, courage, altruism, empathy, self compassion, Forgiveness, gratitude, humility, integrity) utilizing local texts and subject methods to improve learning abilities while highlighting these important themes and their relevance to subject content, individual action and societal change and transformation.
