40 Days MLK - Volunteering and Civic Life: AmeriCorps Virtual Event January 25, 2023

Date: January 25, 2023 @ 3:00pm ET

Americans came together despite the pandemic’s multiple challenges, offering help and hope to communities in every imaginable way. But significant economic and social challenges continue, making service and civic engagement more important than ever.

Join us for a virtual webinar hosted by AmericaCorps, in partnership with Points of Light, National Conference on Citizenship, and Independent Sector, about how we move forward to face those challenges together. An interactive panel of national nonprofit, civic, and education leaders will discuss how Americans positively impacted their communities during COVID — supporting immunization clinics, food banks, isolated seniors, and tutoring students to help keep them on track in school — and how we move forward together to meet community challenges ahead.

This virtual event will also feature a fireside chat with Michael Smith
AmeriCorps, Chief Executive Officer, Dr. Mary Hyde, Director, Office of Research and Evaluation, and Vivek H. Murthy, MD, Surgeon General for an overview on the latest research on national, state, and demographic trends in volunteering and civic life at the height of the coronavirus pandemic.
