Are You In?!
We invite you to play in one or both of the upcoming Compassion Games: Survival of the Kindest!
The MLK Weekend Coopetition (1/15 - 1/18) & the World Interfaith Harmony Week Coopetition (2/1 - 2/7)!
Join us to bring the growing spirit of global unity to our beloved communities!
What is the MLK Weekend Coopetition?
The MLK Weekend: Living Beloved Community Coopetition is a four-day challenge to bring the vision of Dr. King’s Beloved Community to life through acts of kindness and organized service projects. Beginning January 15th, on MLK’s birthday, and going through January 18th (a U.S. National Day of Service), participants are encouraged to honor the people and places in their lives where Beloved Community thrives while we each more fully realize our unique role in the unfolding story of our time. Uplifting one another, players strive to make the world a more just, safe, and equitable place to live for all members of the Human Family. Sign up to play and learn more here!
What is the World Interfaith Harmony Week Coopetition?
The World Interfaith Harmony Week Coopetition is a seven-day global challenge to promote acts of peace, collaboration and tolerance between people of all faith, spiritual, and humanistic traditions. An annual U.N. observance beginning on February 1st and going through February 7th, individuals and teams will use the spirit of coopetition to inspire collaborative acts of service to give back to their communities and strengthen mutual respect, understanding, and harmony between people of all backgrounds. Sign up to play and learn more here!
How Can You Get Involved?
There are many ways that individuals and teams can play, from organizing creative service projects to performing acts of kindness. By signing up to play, individuals and teams receive simple yet profound compassion “missions” to guide their actions each day of the coopetition. These missions make participating in the Compassion Games accessible and meaningful for players of all ages!
You can also participate by attending one or several of the special Harmony Week Speaker Events hosted by the Charter for Compassion during World Harmony Week. “Global Values” author Karin Miller, the Interfaith Amigos, Georgetown professor John Esposito, and others will equip us to advocate for embracing diversity. Learn more and sign up here.
How do the Compassion Games Work?
In addition to receiving daily missions, players report on their activities on the Compassion Report Map. The reports of Registered Teams are reflected on the Coopetition Scoreboard, displaying the number of volunteers, number of hours served, number of people served, and the monies raised for local or global causes. The purpose of the scoreboard is not to receive credit for one’s actions (you can report anonymously), but to inspire others by the stories that emerge as a result of players being actively compassionate in the world!
Are you in?! We look forward to playing alongside you!
