Bridge Alliance and the Citizen Summit (January 5, 2016)
Dear Compassionate Communities and City Organizers:
We are sending the e-mail below on behalf of one of our partners: Bridge Alliance. They are setting out to organize a Citizen Summit this summer. We'd like to encourage you to consider how your city can become involved with this effort. Read through this mailing and if you are interested please join us on a conference call, Wednesday, January 13, 6:00 am PT, 7:00 am MT, 8:00 am CT and 9:00 am ET. You'll need to register here for the call. Hopefully you'll be able to join us for the conversation. If you are interested in this project and can't make the call, send me an e-mail: and I'll pass it on to the organizers. Also, the Bridge Alliance have created a power point about to support their ideas and the Citizen Summit. Drop me a line and I'll send it on to you.
Here is a message for you from the Bridge Alliance
We're writing to request a phone meeting with any members of the the US Compassion Communities/Cities network who might be interested in learning about our efforts and possibly working with us to produce a Citizen Summit in the summer of 2016.
The Citizen Summit is designed to:
- showcase what’s working in our country in the “transpartisan field” — country before party, collaborative leadership, dialogue and deliberation, civility and compassion, existing left/right coalitions on challenging issues, inter-faith values, we the people intelligence, millennial projects, gender equality, etc.,
- to offer a third narrative of Americans working together,
- to activate a transpartisan constituency.
- We’ve always felt that the transpartisan dynamic and the compassion approach as a framework for communities, public policy and bringing heart into politics could be a strong alliance.
To that end, we’d like to share our work and invite your participation.
Sincerely,
John Steiner and Mark Gerzon
