The Charter for Compassion will observe World Interfaith Harmony Week by presenting five unique "webinar radio" programs at 10 a.m. Pacific Time, 1 p.m. Eastern Time. They will be moderated by Reed Price, Charter coordinator, and former newsroom supervisor for AP and MSNBC. Each program has its own theme and you should register for each individually. Here are the offerings:
February 1: The Golden Rule Day with Karen Armstrong, Krista Tippett and the Interfaith Amigos. Register here.
February 2: Interfaith Leadership with Eboo Patel. Register here.
February 3: Faces of Compassion with Roshi Joan Halifax and the viewing of two films of compassion in practice with the Buddhist Nuns and Monks and their work with the environment and a special presentation on expanding the circle of interfaith dialogue with awakening to compassion for animals. February 6: Sounds of Compassion with Nigel Westlake and Lior in an offering from the Compassion Symphony, first unveiled at the Sydney Opera House and a selection of songs from the Indian singer and humanitarian, Nimo, and ending with the Israeli-Palestinian duo, Noa and Mira Awad, and Emma's Revolution. February 7: Compassion Gives Us a Second Chance begins with Charlie Chaplin's recitation from the film, the Great Dictator, followed by a visual presentation of Carl Sagan's, The Blue Dot and ending with several songs by Holly Near and the Latin artists, Argentinian performers, Mercedes Sosa and Inti-Illimani. Commit Change
We want you to sign up or recommit as a member of the Charter for Compassion International. By becoming a member, you are supporting the Charter's core team effort's to provide tools and resources to people who believe that a compassionate world is a peaceful world. This team of staff and volunteers organizes events, puts together resources, develops programming and more to help cities and other communities take the steps to develop and implement action plans to become more compassionate. Our campaign aims to welcome 2,000 new and returning members and garner $70,000 in dues in 2017. Also, this campaign kicks off our relationship with CommitChange—a cloud-based service that allows nonprofits and donors to work together on a single platform. Check out our new donate page.
