Davidson is a world-renowned neuroscientist known for his groundbreaking work on the effects of mindfulness and compassion on the brain. Elworthy is a human rights activist and founder of the Oxford Research Group, for which she was nominated three times for the Nobel Peace Prize. That is often a question we face. We see something that we know is not right: an injustice, an unfair law or practice, unnecessary cruelty, or even just a natural occurrence that leaves people reeling in its wake. We will often want to do something, and yet not really know what can be done. Many organizations will rush in saying you can help by donating money or goods, and this is always an option. But for many that is not enough. Or maybe some of us question the actual effectiveness of charitable organizations, especially when we cannot directly see their effects.
Often it seems that many organization devoted to change and improving the world actually compete … for funds and followers, instead of working together. This is rather self-defeating. They (we) need to learn to work together for common goals, instead of trying to be the hero; trying to get the acclaim. One of the concepts of this nation we hope to build is to allow all to contribute however they can. No idea is without merit, and no good intention will fall between the cracks.
There are compassionate cities and communities and then there is a compassionate world. Citizenship is easy in PAX Nation. All one has to do is desire to be one. By registering, you can become part of the development of the Nation Without Borders. You will be able to contribute content, and help shape this project into a meaningful and effective agent for change in the world. You can create you own profile page (right now it will be a basic profile but that may change as the project grows). Take on a new citizenship in a peaceful global nation.

Lots of Work, Many Hands
The old adage goes "if you need something done ask a busy person to help."
We know that you all are busy we keep asking for your help. It seems every time we ask for something specific people respond positively. In the last month we've had three people join us as lead volunteers, and a few have responded to offering Charter Salons. We still need leads to help with our environment, healthcare, interfaith and women and girls sectors.
Also, we need more of our members to consider inviting friends, colleagues and neighbors into your home or community center and introduce the Charter to them. We have a video with voice over to help you, a script if you would prefer that, and some small give aways. We call these gatherings Charter Salons and in addition to introducing the Charter to new audiences we would like for them to support our work. We are hoping to have at least fifty gathering around the world in the next few months. Would you please help? As you know we are a very small operation and the only way forward is with your help.
