The Merriman Financial Education Foundation believes "knowledge is power" and is dedicated to providing comprehensive financial education to investors, with information and tools to make informed decisions in their own best interest and successfully implement their retirement savings program.
Programs
Western Washington University – development of a course on investing, to be taught starting Sept. 2013. Titled, “Investing for the Non-Finance Major,” this 36-hour (3 credit) course is designed to prepare students to take charge of their own financial future through understanding the process of investing for retirement and other important financial obligations. Students will learn about mutual funds, 401(k)s, IRAs, index funds, target date funds, asset allocation, selecting the best performing funds, stock and bond funds, inflation, long-term returns and risk of different investments, compound rate of return, etc.

Paul’s website Paulmerriman.com. Paul posts the MarketWatch articles and other articles by and about his investment strategy, in addition to weekly podcasts entitled “Sound Investing”. This podcast was named “Best Money Podcast” by Money magazine in 2008. The site also includes access to five of his books. Paul also answers many of his readers’ questions, either on the site or by phone.
Speaking Engagements. Paul addresses a number of investor groups, by request, including the American Association of Individual Investors, Market Technicians Association, and others.
All proceeds, including Paul’s royalties, are donated to The Foundation.
