July 20, 2021 marks the 800th anniversary of the laying of the first stone in the Burgos Cathedral, and that is why The VIII Centennial of the Cathedral Foundation was born. Burgos 2021 aims to unite the city of Burgos around the celebration of the VIII Centenary of the Cathedral, through the development of various cultural and social projects over the next few years.

The Foundation plans to develop an extensive commemorative program including cultural activities such as exhibitions, concerts, and conferences, in order to celebrate the eight centuries of history of the Cathedral of Burgos. The most important thing is the participation of the Burgos people and their initiatives and ideas as an axis around which the celebration of the VIII Centenary of the Cathedral revolves. Through this project, the Foundation intends to create synergies with other proposals in the province that consolidate Burgos as a land of origins.
