NANCY=GRACE
We have a dear volunteer, Nancy Rushlow Bray, who is taking an extended break from the many tasks that she does to support the work of the Charter for Compassion. Nancy has been an integral part of the volunteer CEI Team (Charter Education Institute) and our Charter family for several years now. We would need a separate newsletter to list all the tasks that Nancy has performed for CEI. As Charter newsletter readers you've been a direct recipient of her work for years, as she is the main person who compiles, lays out and schedules its distribution to our 80,000+ recipients.
Thanks so very much, Nancy, for the countless ways you make things happen at the Charter. Nancy, we will miss seeing your beautiful face and sweet smile in our staff meetings. Anyone who knows you will not be surprised that the name Nancy in Hebrew also means Grace. Spot on for you Nancy, as you are filled with grace, kindness, love, and compassion!
Many thanks, Nancy! We hope you have a wonderful and restful hiatus and we look forward to seeing you in the near future.

We are accepting applications until April 4 and plan to have interviews with potential candidates the week of April 18. The anticipated starting date will be May 9. While the salary range for this position intends to meet the median salary within an individual's country, we may not always be able to achieve that level. Please send cover letter and resume to .

LAST CHANCE!
poetry for inspiration and wellbeing 2022
(Back By Popular Demand!)
There’s truth to the saying, “There’s a poet in all of us.” Poetry has always had an important place in society. It still does today. Consider, for instance, Amanda Gorman, the young, African American poet who recited her poem from the United States Capitol during the Inauguration of President Joseph Biden. Shortly after that auspicious day, while the world watched, she read another poem during the Super Bowl, one of the most watched events in television history. Clearly, poetry has a place in our society. But how do you bring out the poet inside you?
Starts April 4, Cost: $30

FOSTERING COMPASSIONATE CITy culture
A Guide to Human Flourishing
Our capacity to collaborate and innovate together has been undermined by the increase in incivility, toxic behavior and divisiveness in our homes, schools, workplaces, and the public square. This erodes our sense of belonging, community, and well-being.
We need each other to address the complex challenges facing our communities and our cities – from aging infrastructure to climate change, homelessness, mental health and addiction issues among many others.
Course starts April 25, Cost: $45

Special offering with Dr. Dan Siegel M.D. April 4 at 1:00 pm PDT
Parenthood gives a whole new meaning to the term stress test. Too often, we find ourselves treadmilling through our days set on “automatic,” anxiously trying to keep pace with far too many to-dos. It can seem difficult, if not impossible, to pause and catch a breath. How can we shift from automaton mode to being more present in our lives and for the people we love?
In this illuminating ParentMap Live talk, renowned psychiatrist, Mindsight Institute cofounder and author Dan Siegel, M.D., will break down techniques to help parents become more mindful in their daily routines. Drawing from the groundbreaking Wheel of Awareness practice outlined in his bestselling books “Aware” and “Becoming Aware,” Dr. Siegel will share everyday exercises to regain inner balance and peace, while reducing fear, anxiety, and stress.

TAKE ACTION
Go to our TAKE ACTION page to find a variety of ways in which to interact with the Charter and some of our key strategic partners. The Charter for Compassion is essentially a movement with many different players; individuals, compassionate cities, partner organizations and coalitions of other organizations all coming together as one network.
As a non-profit, the Charter relies on the generosity of its members and communities to continue to meet our mission of making compassion a clear, luminous, and dynamic force in our polarized world. Help us share our vision and work with your family, colleagues, neighbors, and organizations in which you are involved. Host a Charter Salon with friends and family, at home, with your faith community, or colleagues from work. We have everything you need: invitations, links to films, brochures, PowerPoints if you prefer, and even talking points. Contact Us and we’ll get back to you, follow up with an e-mail, call or Zoom meeting. We rely on people who believe in our mission to help touch the lives of those in local communities and across the world.
