Introducing the Map of Co-Creators by Felipe Zurita

Hello Charter Family!

I'm excited to let you know of one of the Charter for Compassion's newest initiatives: The Map of Co-Creators [...]

The purpose of this Map is to support us in co-creating the world that we all desire – with peace, joy, and care for all life.

  • Millions of people are prepared to engage with others to co-create the world that our hearts desire.
  • Few of us are, however, visible to each other. We may be members of thousands of different global or local networks isolated from each other, or we may be alone with a heartfelt desire to somehow contribute.
  • Thus, with the Map, we want to make all co-creators visible to each other.
  • The initial aim is to allow like-minded people who live close to each other to establish contact via email and explore co-creation opportunities in physical meetings.

Learn about the many benefits and more details on the map here.

From our Executive Director, Marilyn Turkovich:

Mea culpa: Last week I wrote a blog on the number of journalists whose lives have been taken this year reporting on wars, rebellions, and the advancement of drug cartels.  I stated that the Palestinian-American journalist, Abu Akleh was murdered by Israeli forces.  No matter how you may have read it, the statement was an accusation.  For me, it was an accusation that yet another person’s life had senselessly been ended. To others, it may appear that I declared that this was a deliberate act.  No matter the reasoning, the act was wrong, and I was wrong in using the word “murdered,” since it, as my critic claimed, was not compassionate and my statement was more of a stopping point than one of opening a dialogue to peace. My apologies.

Film Series: The Economics of Happiness
View at your convenience from Thursday May 26th through Saturday May 29th. Learn more here

This documentary describes a world moving simultaneously in two opposing directions. On the one hand, government and big business continue to promote globalization and the consolidation of corporate power. At the same time, people around the world are resisting those policies – and, far from the old institutions of power, they’re starting to forge a very different future. Communities are coming together to re-build more human scale, ecological economies based on a new paradigm – an economics of localization.
