Martin Luther King Jr. International Chapel at Morehouse College

Mission
Our mission is to teach, encourage, inspire and support the development of everyone we touch as ambassadors of the Beloved World Community.
Chapel Vision
Our vision is that the Chapel will be a beacon for Morehouse College students, faculty, staff and alumni, as well as others from around the world, who seek to experience a meaningful connection with Dr. King’s World House values of ethics, nonviolence, service and unity. Through our transformative ministry and programs, these seekers will be captivated by the possibility of the Beloved World Community as the ethical meaning of the Reign of God and, thus inspired, be compelled to go forth and create that experience for others. As a result of the collective work of this corps of ambassadors, we will one day realize Dr. King’s dream of a world in which all people embody their spiritual magnificence and live together in peace.
Description
The purpose of the Martin Luther King Jr. International Chapel is to teach excellence, ethics, equality and engagement. It is to demonstrate the interdisciplinary foundations of a learned ecumenical Christian ministry for the world; to create spiritual realization through value-and virtue-centered theologically based faith; and to inspire the communitarian development of servant scholars as visionary human rights revolutionists and social gospel activists coming from a place of Gandhian nonviolence and political personalism. This is Martin Luther King’s informed service-oriented way to dialectically grow, personally and globally, with Cosmic Companionship, into democracy’s dignity and destiny, ensuring that piety never will be divorced from intellect.
