Service For Peace (SFP) fosters a culture of compassion and service by offering a variety of volunteer opportunities ranging from one-day introductory projects to large scale, international programs in developing nations.
SFP follows a collaborative leadership model in which different sectors, organizations and individuals work together to address community issues. SFP assesses community needs and then works with local leaders, schools and organizations to address specific issues within the community. SFP links service to education by involving secondary schools and institutions of higher education to create lasting community change and provide opportunities for intensive commitments to service that foster civic responsibility. To strengthen grassroots coalitions, SFP provides technical support and outcome-based evaluation measuring positive community change and helping to build capacity and sustainability. SFP continues to reach underserved populations by forming partnerships with agencies that serve such groups.
