A Guy Who Used to be Homeless Shows Us Exactly What Determination Looks Like
James has always had a hectic life, but realized he was homeless somewhere during the year he was 14. Despite an inconsistent address and attending three different high schools in four years, James managed to get into nine colleges before he decided to attend Howard University, where he is a freshman physics major.
Since arriving at HU, James has joined a freshman leadership program and launched a campaign for freshman class vice president, in addition to attending classes, making new friends, and exploring Washington, DC.
In his spare time, James enjoys playing basketball and baseball, and creating poetry and art. He hopes that HomelessTo will allow him to spread his story, and give other kids the courage to ask for help when in crisis, and pursue their dreams.
