The World Peace Prayer Society

Dedicated to uniting the hearts of humanity through the Universal Message and Prayer, May Peace Prevail on Earth. The movement was founded in 1955 by the late Japanese philosopher Masahisa Goi, who advocated a neutral, non-sectarian movement for world peace that transcends religion, politics, and ethnicity.
Through activities such as the Peace Pole Project, the World Peace Prayer Ceremony, and Peace Pals International, the Society spreads the spirit of May Peace Prevail on Earth throughout the world.
The May Peace Prevail on Earth movement spread throughout Japan for three decades and in 1988, the international headquarters of the Society was established in the United States in the state of New York. In 1990, the Society gained official recognition as an NGO associated with the Department of Public Information at the United Nations. Since then, its activities have expanded worldwide through the grassroots support of volunteers and like-minded people across the globe.
