What the Bleep is Going On?
It was quite the week. I started in Las Vegas where I had the honor of addressing the Las Vegas city council and in a private meeting had the opportunity of inviting Mayor Carolyn Goodman to visit with the Mayors of the State of Nuevo Leon, Mexico in 2017. I was in Las Vegas to celebrate the first anniversary of the city being a compassionate initiative and to recognize five compassionate individuals and organizations who are assuring that Las Vegas is meeting its goal as a compassionate city. The event was sponsored by the Interfaith Council of Southern Nevada. After leaving Las Vegas I headed south of the border to Monterrey, Mexico to participate in the Encuentro Mundial de Valores (Human Values) conference and to officate in a ceremony welcoming seven new compassionate cities that have affirmed the Charter: El Carmen, General Escobedo, Mina, Monterrey, San Nicolas, Santa Catarina and Santiago. Last year at the same event the communities of Apodoca, Guadalupe and San Pedro affirmed the Charter. The goal of Compassionate Nuevo Leon is to get all cities, towns and villages in the state to affirm the Charter, create sustainable action plans, and to eventually become mentors to other potential Charter cities in Mexico. There is no stopping this group. They are working in schools, universities, prisons and are now exploring how to initiate compassionate businesses. Help us figure out how to bring this model to your state or province. We are listening.
Amid the acrimony and violence in our world, it can be difficult — some days almost impossible — to find a calm center in the storm. But the good news is that this calm… this peace... hasn’t actually gone anywhere.
It’s still present within you. You just may need powerful tools to get reconnected and stay connected with it. That’s why I’m encouraging you to join me for a free online event, Saturday, October 29, with peacebuilding and social change activists Philip Hellmich and Emily Hine.
You can register here for What The Bleep Is Going On? Powerful Practices to Stay Centered & Help Bring Sanity to the World. Emily and Philip know from deep personal experience that in times of great discord, it’s essential that we deepen personal transformational practices.
It’s free to attend, simply RSVP here. Learn more about the call on our on-line newsletter. A recording will be provided later to all who register, whether or not you listen to the live event.
