Why Crows Fly Back and Forth
Why are crows always on the move?
American Crow, Going This Way
Crows seem to come and go.
So one day I went to the Great Council of Birds and asked,
Why is it that crows fly one way, and then fly another way?
American Crow, Going That Way
The birds stared at me for a moment, as birds will do. Then one small bird spoke.
"Crows do this to maintain balance in the World.
If too many were to be in one place, then that place would have too many crows.
And if too few were to be in one place, then that place would have too few crows.
So they are always on the move, going back and forth.
As with everything, this is part of the grand plan of blending what is dark with what is light.
And perhaps you have noticed that there are never too many nor too few in any one place for a long time."
Then this bird ruffled its feathers while the rest nodded in agreement.
