We have an extraordinary history dating back to the 17th century. Today, we aspire to develop the full potential of all of our pupils, whether highly academic or less academically gifted. Within our nurturing environment, each student is encouraged to explore all of his or her talents. We aim to create a friendly and caring family environment, allowing pupils to make maximum progress whilst enjoying their work and achievement so that they can become confident and competent members of society when they leave our portals.
We accomplish our goals through employing experienced, well-qualified and dedicated teaching staffs who work in small classes to encourage the most from our students. In turn, our students adhere to the school code of conduct and maintain high 'Lammassian' standards of discipline, manners, personal appearance, diligence, courtesy, respect for self, others and property. This creates a very special community, which includes incredible parents who support the school mission.
Our goal at Lammas School is to provide affordable education to give your child the best chance in life.
We are a unique school and proud of what makes us different. We are a non-selective school and welcome children of all abilities. At Lammas, children find a school where they are safe and secure and can flourish no matter what their background or abilities. How do we accomplish this?
First, we strongly believe that every child matters and every child is an individual. Secondly, we keep classes sizes small and standards high. We have staff who genuinely care and create a “home from home” environment. This means we can bring the best out in your child.
Uniquely, we provide continuing support to your child by having both a Junior and Senior sections, so that your child will not have to be disrupted and settle in to a new school at age 11. We also find that having all ages provides an added element with older students watching out for the younger ones.
We focus on the whole child, not just the academic side. We know that 21st Century Readiness Skills - communication, collaboration, critical thinking and creativity - are as important as academic ones. Our focus is to create independent thinkers who can navigate a rapidly changing world - life-long learners who learn from their exploration and mistakes.
Our pupils come from across Nottinghamshire and Derbyshire with parents from all walks of life, but with the same goal --to give their children the best chance in life.
We endeavour to offer them a broad range of experiences with varied school trips. We offer a Breakfast Club and After School clubs and activities.
