Build Compassionate Communities

Compassion Ambassador Guidebooks

The Charter for Compassion is please to offer the Compassionate Cities Ambassador Program. This initiative is designed to strengthen the bridge between grassroots compassion teams and local government leaders, including mayors, city managers, council members, and municipal departments.

Compassion Ambassadors will act as vital liaisons, fostering collaboration and understanding between community-driven compassion initiatives and local governments. Their roles will include:

  • Deepening Community Engagement: Ensuring grassroots teams have a voice in shaping local initiatives.
  • Advocating for Community Concerns: Promoting the issues and goals of compassion teams to political leaders.
  • Informing Public Policy: Helping align local policies with the principles of compassion and equity.
  • Enhancing Collaboration: Building on the successes of shared efforts between citizens and governments.

This innovative program was created by Compassionate Sacramento, who are now generously gifting it to the Charter for Compassion’s global network of community initiatives.

Click on the Ambassador Program Presentation to learn about the background to this project and to experience the launch of the Ambassador Program offered on February 28, 2025. In addition, the Guidebook offers a step-by-step approach of how you can adapt this program to your own community initiative.  The third box, Sponsorship and Fundraising provides ideas on how to sustain your initiative.
