North Thurston Public Schools is committed to excellence in learning for all students! Our mission is to provide every student the academic and life skills necessary to succeed in a diverse world. With nearly 15,000 students, we are the largest and most diverse district in Thurston County. Our students have achieved state and national honors in the arts, academics, CTE and athletics and last year our graduating seniors were offered nearly $11 million in scholarships.
NTPS is proud to be part of the international Charter for Compassionate Schools which recognizes that we treat each other with kindness, respect differences and make our district a place where everyone belongs and feels safe. This call to action will help enrich our Positive Behavior Intervention Support (PBIS) system in our schools which teaches behavior expectations to students throughout the year and provides positive recognition for those following the expectations. Our office referrals have already dropped dramatically as part of PBIS. Starting with our 2014-15 calendar, NTPS will be promoting a variety of “Compassion” activities, tools and educational opportunities including the Compassion Games September 11-21.
Let’s get caring today!
