In order to find joy and meaning in life, it's important to carve out time for self-reflection and self-development. Sometimes, though, we can only spare an hour.
We invite you to spend an hour each week connecting with others while you learn about and practice compassion and mindfulness.
Sign up for five weeks of connection, accountability, learning, and laughter. (Yes, this will be fun!)
Watch the video below to find out why Sara & Burrell developed this course and what you can gain from it.
Why should you take this course?
We've all got a lot on our plates, and it's tough to make time for self-development. By setting up these weekly classes, we'll offer bite-sized lessons on compassion, self-compassion, and mindfulness, plus we'll offer check-ins, accountability, and time to connect with others.
Research indicates that compassion and self-compassion can improve overall well-being, increase joy, improve resilience, and create a sense of connection.
If you're curious about cultivating compassion for yourself and others, but you don't have the capacity to take an eight-week course, this course is for you.
We developed Compassion Training for Busy People as a way to make compassion and mindfulness more accessible. We've found that many, if not most, people cannot commit two or more hours a week for eight weeks.
We're hoping this course will attract a diverse group of people from various backgrounds so that we can learn from each other and build bridges in our disconnected and divisive society.
What’s the format?
Meet us on Zoom each week for one hour to discuss:
Week 1 - Mindfulness
Week 2 - Compassion
Week 3 - Self-Compassion
Week 4 - Common Humanity
Week 5 - Compassion for the Planet
Once a week, you'll have the chance to dedicate an hour to being fully present. You'll be amazed at how time flies! The hour includes breakout discussions, experiential exercises, and brief lessons by Burrell and Sara. We'll cover the basics during that hour, and then we'll invite everyone to stick around for another 30 minutes to continue the discussion. If you can't stay, that's totally fine!
