Children Are the Future
The Convention on the Rights of the Child, a landmark in the history of human rights, was adopted unanimously by the United Nations General Assembly in 1989.
The 1990 World Summit for Children set important goals for the world’s children. The 2002 Special Session on Children included child delegates for the fist time in UN history and ended with the adoption of the resolution, “A World Fit for Children.”
This exhibit was created to illustrate the principles in the resolution and to create dialogue about the rights of children throughout the world.
Together we can foster safe, healthy, and happy children – the leaders of today and tomorrow.
