Story telling is part of the healing process...it is a catharsis

 ~ Letiapa Mphalele

Initiatives of Change (IofC), http://iofc.org/ is a world-wide movement of people of diverse cultures and backgrounds, who are committed to the transformation of society through changes in human motives and behaviour, starting with their own. The organisation works in 44 countries around the world and has its roots in peace, healing and reconciliation work since the 1960’s.IofC has a long association in making quality films about Africa and peace building and Beyond Forgiving is its latest documentary film. Beyond Forgiving tells the inspiring and hopeful story of forgiveness and reconciliation between Letlapa Mphalele and Ginn Fourie, whose daughter Lyndi was killed in 1993, in an attack ordered by Letlapa when he was leader of a liberation movement in South Africa.

The protagonists have been invited by IofC and its partners (The Forgiveness Project and the Wilderness Foundation) to take part in a UK Speaking Tour on healing and reconciliation during the 18 – 30 May. The tour will comprise of (free) public, community and educational screenings, seminars and workshop events around healing and moving from victimhood to survivor that will allow people in Oxford (18 May), London (27 May), Bradford (22 May), Liverpool (23 May), Durham (28 May) and Belfast (30 May)  to put their questions directly to the protagonists as well as view the film.If you would like to know more about the Tour or get in touch with IofC, you can contact Talia Smith.
