Partnership for Sustainable Development (PSD) is a non-governmental, social development organization which aims to support the poorest and most vulnerable communities in Nepal. Through the vast experience of its staff, PSD has the capability to facilitate social transformation, empowerment and to provide consultancy for the execution, monitoring and evaluation of development project activities.
It is one of PSD´s founding beliefs that all programs should involve local people in their own environment to secure a participatory and sustainable approach. It is registered with the District Office in Kathmandu as well as with the Social Welfare Council (SWC) and closely cooperates with local partners in the respective program districts to ensure that project activities are conducted in the right location and manner. Hence PSD has been recognized by the government, collaborate NGOs, the civil society and the stakeholders as a reliable and successful operating organization.
PSD Programs
Small-Scale Projects
The funding of small-scale projects has been done presently by an online fundraising program with our partner organization JustAid. PSD identifies, in close consultation with the beneficiary community, different development needs, (i.e. concerning basic infrastructure, medical provision, water supply etc.) and sends a list of project proposals to JustAid. Those proposals are posted under the heading “Wishlist” on JustAid’s website in order to raise funds through online donations of which 100% go directly to the communities where the projects are implemented. PSD is now launching the PSD Wish Foundation which works in a similar way. Read more about Small-Scale Projects.
Volunteer Programs
PSD invites volunteers from all over the world to contribute in various areas of rural development in Nepal. Volunteers are placed in communities where help is most needed and are involved in construction work, teaching, health camps, nature conservation measures and other relevant activities. PSD offers summer, medical and long-term programs; however, interested volunteers from any background/profession can contact PSD at any time to develop an appropriate arrangement outside of the regular programs. Internship
PSD offers internship possibilities for international students in various fields within PSD or within one of our partner organizations. Read more about internship possibilities.
