The Plato Society of Zagreb was founded in 2006 by members of the organizing committee of the International Symposium: Platonism and Forms of Intelligence, which took place in Hvar, Croatia in October of the same year. Its founding constituted part of their effort to establish a permanent forum for research on philosophical questions first brought into focus and insight by Socrates and Plato and by the tradition of philosophy which emerged from their reflection.
