Our group ethos is to open the hearts and minds of our local community within our isolated, tight knit rural area in South West Cornwall, to promote acceptance, break down barriers of stigma amongst all age groups and encourage more conversations whether in pubs or the fish and chip shop wherever we can display our St Just Swings and Roundabouts group meetings advertising posters.
We meet monthly at a central venue called The Knut. It is the building used as staging storage and dressing rooms for the Plen An Gwarry Amphitheatre and is named after an inspirational late creative director, Dominic Knutton, who tragically took his own life after treatment for depression. Fittingly, his legacy continues within the spacious venue where our recently launched peer support group can discuss issues, welcome speakers and most importantly welcome new members who may request signposting to helpful agencies, borrow books CDs from our extensive collection and enjoy a chat and refreshments from 2pm -4pm every first Wednesday of every month.
