Mission and Vision: Compassionate Ballarat encourages the compassionate work already occurring across our city by cultivating compassionate attitudes and actions within homes, workplaces and communities.

Our Steering Group provides compassionate resources, including educational and community forums, as well as training resources and our publications to assist all those in Ballarat wanting to create a more flourishing and compassionate city.

For those looking for help with shelter, food and other well-being support, we provides a focal point for individuals to find those resources.

And importantly, we engage and support our city leaders in applying compassion within their organizations by providing them with the latest evidence from compassion cases studies in other Charter cities and from university studies around the world.

Compassionate Ballarat is a volunteer organisation, with no legal or corporate structure as yet. The work of Compassionate Ballarat is overseen by a Steering Group auspiced by Grampians Health. The Steering Group formed to develop and implement a strategic approach to creating Ballarat as a Compassionate City and contribute to the Global Charter initiative. The committee meets six times a year to review issues, initiatives and plan projects.
