The Charter for Compassion Australia has created a new book that explores the Why of the Voice to Parliament. While there has been much debate on the ‘What’ and the ‘How’ of the Voice at a political level, there has been very little discussion on the ‘Why’ of an Indigenous Voice at a community level.
This project invited indigenous and non-indigenous Australians to develop compelling statements on the Why of the Voice by drawing on one of the five Indigenous mindsets as outlined by Dr Tyson Yunkaporta.
In all there are 24 statements that have been captured in this book, including from: Singer songwriter Shane Howard; GP and Director of the Centre for a Compassionate Society Dr Petrina Barson; and Author and Social Scientist Hugh MacKay.
