Oklahoma City is in the process of becoming a Compassionate Community, lead by Carmen Clay. Her personal efforts have concentrated at the school where she works, raising awareness of the Eleven Days of Global Unity with connections to the Compassion Games. She hopes the 2015 Peace Team will connect with “the Games” this coming September.
The Oklahoma National Memorial and Museum has a new initiative called The Oklahoma Standard which calls for acts of kindness, service and honor.
The United Nations Association of Greater Oklahoma City is planning the International Day of Peace OKC Celebration (9/21). This organization might consider connections to the compassionate communities since some of the planning members of the Day of Peace Celebration are looking for ways to connect different organization to WE, The World, 11 Days of Global Unity.
