Elena Hermosa
Elena Hermosa is a social worker, educator, photojournalist and videographer. During her career she has been focusing on social justice issues, collaborating with several NGO’s, Education Centre's and is a published photographer and videographer.
Elena completed her undergraduate studies in Social Work and Master's degree in International Cooperation and Humanitarian Intervention and also has a Masters degree in Social Media and Community Management. She completed her Media Studies in Ireland and graduated from the Documentary Photography and Photojournalism program at the International Center of Photography in New York. She has been working until very recently as the Manager of a Refugee Centre in Madrid as well as an Associate Professor in University of Comillas, Madrid on the Dual Degree in Criminology and Social Work and on the Bachelor's Degree in Social Work.
Elena has now become a proud member of the Goldenruleism Team as Co-coordinator.
Her images and short documentaries have appeared in publications like The New York Times, Huffington Post, The Irish Times, and Rwanda Post, Films for Action, among others. Hermosa was awarded a scholarship from The Thomson Reuters Foundation in 2013. In 2015—she was a finalist at the Manuel Rivera-Ortiz Film Festival and ICCL Human Rights Film Awards.
