CALL FOR PROPOSALS

A Shared Commitment

More than a gathering, the Compassionate Action Conference is a collective affirmation of shared values and shared responsibility. Participants leave with renewed connection, practical insight, and a deeper sense of belonging within a global movement committed to building compassionate communities—one place, one relationship, one action at a time.

Call for Proposals: How to Participate

Compassionate Action Conference | May 13–14, 2026
A Living Framework: Where Pillars Converge

1. Consider Your Contribution
Reflect on how your work, research, or lived experience advances compassionate action within one or more of the Charter’s seven pillars: Education and Wisdom, Health, Environmental Stewardship, Justice and Integrity, Music and the Arts, Play and Innovation, and Spirituality—especially where these pathways intersect in practice.

2. Choose a Session Format
Decide how you would like to share your contribution. Session formats include keynotes, panels, general sessions, and lightning talks.

3. Prepare Your Proposal
Develop a proposal that clearly describes your topic, approach, and how it supports the Charter for Compassion’s mission of strengthening compassionate communities and shared responsibility.

4. Submit by the Proposal Deadline
All proposals must be submitted by April 15, 2026.
Proposals are reviewed on a rolling basis, with acceptance notifications beginning March 15, 2026.

5. Select Your Participation Mode
Choose to present live or asynchronously (a pre-recorded presentation that participants can view on demand during and after the conference).

6. Submit Recorded Sessions (If Applicable)
If presenting asynchronously, submit your recorded presentation by May 1, 2026.

7. Submit More Than One Proposal (Optional)
Individuals and organizations are welcome to submit multiple proposals, provided each addresses a distinct topic or approach.

About the Charter for Compassion

Founded in 2009, the Charter for Compassion is a global movement advancing compassion as a guiding principle for personal, community, and institutional life. Rooted in the universal ethic of the Golden Rule, the Charter affirms compassion as essential to justice, peace, and our shared humanity.

Today, the Charter works with nearly 600 Compassionate Communities in more than 55 countries and collaborates with nearly 3,000 partner organizations worldwide. Together, they bring compassion into education, healthcare, civic life, the arts, environmental stewardship, and spiritual practice.

Through a living framework of seven interconnected pillars, the Charter supports grassroots leadership, shared learning, and collaborative action—helping communities turn compassion into meaningful, lasting change.
