Job Title: Global Youth Strategist
Board of Trustees Association: Youth Relations Committee
Reports to: Executive Director
Summary: The role will be aligned to the mission and vision of the Charter for Compassion to support the emerging global movement that brings compassion to life, and be responsible for the overall coordination of the Charter for Compassion Youth Relations Committee. This will include developing and implementing programs conceptualized by the Youth Relations Committee that empower young people to take action on issues that are aligned with the 12 sectors of the Charter for Compassion. The ideal candidate will have a strong commitment to youth empowerment and compassion, and a proven track record of working with young people from diverse backgrounds.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
• Develop and implement global youth programs that are aligned with the Charter’s 12 sectors.
• Coordinate the work of youth leaders and volunteers from around the world
• Develop and maintain a network of young people engaged in compassionate action
• Provide training and support to youth leaders and volunteers
• Develop and manage budgets for youth programs
• Track and evaluate the impact of youth programs
• Represent the organization at international conferences and events
• Build and maintain relationships with key partners and stakeholders
Qualifications:
• Tertiary qualification in a relevant field
• 3+ years of experience working with youth in a global context
• Strong project management and budgeting skills
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Working knowledge of the 12 sectors of the Charter for Compassion
• Commitment to youth, social justice, and compassion
Desired Skills and Experience:
• Experience in working with youth from diverse backgrounds
• Experience in program development and evaluation
• Experience in fundraising and grant writing
• Fluency in multiple languages

Compensation: Compassion will be based on a mid-level position in the country in which the applicant resides.
Selection Process: Shortlisted applicants will be invited to participate in a Zoom-based interview the week of December 4th. Selection of candidates will be made by December 15th.
Breakdown of Deliverables & Time Commitment: The selected applicant will work toward and actively be involved in 3 key areas with guidance from the Youth Relations Committee:
1. Creating and building a Youth Network for the Charter for Compassion
2. Facilitating collaboration across other global youth networks
3. Setting up a platform for a Youth Ambassadorship Program
Youth Ambassadorship Program: This program will consist of selecting a distinguished group of global young leaders working in the field of compassion. The purpose of the Youth Ambassadorship Program will be to help selected leaders connect and share their work as well as find mentors and supporters for it. The cultivated Youth Network, as well as the Youth Ambassadorship Program, will potentially annually culminate in a virtual Youth Conference, as well as in an in-person side event at the Human Values Conference in Monterrey, Mexico, in 2024.
