BRODSKY

empty swing in the background with the word BRODSKY front and center of the image
A stick of bombs falling
“Russia will take what’s not nailed to the wall.”
Toys Memorialize the Dead:
A Russian missile that struck near a playground in central Ukraine and killed
WHAT WOULD BRODSKY, exile, say this dark day?
Storm corridors closed.
Love is the long coat to keep warm, vellum, ledgered dark text on a light background
Are doves color-blind?
By child-to-child magic, little people learn. Now
In kindness,
love walks in. Washing cutlery makes its own music.
I’ve got a ticket to ride—the rail hums:
Sundowner,  memories thin, fail to warm: a ledger says “I’ll inform you”
burns like butane
My old flame:
whirls in long Elizabethan dress, embroidered with dove-feathers:
Brodsky knows the music dishes make washed in lather.
The falcon returns with catch, in bells & leather.

Rodger Scott’s says:
“The quietest girl of the century
has a voice of poetry the world hears.”
