Last October, something beautiful happened. Over 500 young leaders from every corner of the world gathered for the first-ever Charter for Compassion Global Youth Conference. For two days, we witnessed what compassion in action looks like - youth activists, thought leaders, educators, and changemakers connecting across borders, sharing their stories, strategies, and aspirations for a more compassionate and just world.
As the Charter’s Global Youth Strategist, that experience reminded me why this work matters so deeply. And I couldn’t be more excited to invite you to join us for our second year together.
Welcome to the 2025 Global Youth Conference
The Charter for Compassion Global Youth Conference returns October 28–30, 2025, with this year’s theme: Compassionate Leadership for Action & Impact.
This free, virtual global gathering is created to empower young people who are leading change in their communities, or are ready to begin. It is a space where young people lead, speak their truth, explore what’s working, what’s not, and what real support looks like when turning vision into reality.
While the conference centers youth voices, everyone is welcome - educators, community leaders, nonprofit teams, parents, and anyone who believes in the transformative power of young people.
A Partnership We’re Proud Of: KidsRights & State of Youth
We’re deeply honored to partner with KidsRights this year, which will bring their State of Youth program to our closing day on October 30.If you don’t know their work yet, KidsRights is an incredible organization amplifying youth voices and empowering young changemakers to advance children’s rights and sustainable development worldwide. Their State of Youth platform is youth-led and action-driven, focusing on human rights, climate justice, peacebuilding, and equality. With them curating our final day, we will close the conference with powerful youth-led storytelling and real examples of compassion turned into tangible change - the perfect way to end three days of shared inspiration and action.
What We’re Building Together
This year’s program unfolds across seven themes that reflect the heart of today’s youth movements:
- Compassionate Leadership & Inner Development
- Decolonization, Identity & Intersectional Justice
- Environmental & Climate Justice
- Youth Peacebuilding & Conflict Transformation
- Compassionate Governance & Civic Engagement
- Ethical Innovation & Digital Leadership
- Compassionate Economics & Sustainable Development
Across these themes, you will find keynote speeches, youth-led panels and interactive sessions, capacity-building workshops, and networking spaces built for genuine connection. Our work at the Charter is a testament that real transformation doesn’t happen in isolation - it happens in relationship.
Honoring Young Changemakers: The Compassionate Youth Awards
We are thrilled to introduce the Charter for Compassion Compassionate Youth Awards this year.
Every day, I meet young people creating impact in extraordinary ways - often without recognition or resources. They’re advocating for justice, building mental health networks, organizing mutual aid, creating art that heals communities, and so much more. They lead with empathy, compassion, courage, and unwavering moral clarity, which is why it wasn’t hard to choose this year’s conference theme: Compassionate Leadership for Action & Impact.
The Compassionate Youth Award will recognize outstanding young leaders who embody compassion in action, individuals whose work advances equity, justice, and human dignity while inspiring others to lead with empathy and courage. Awardees will be honored during the conference and celebrated across our global platforms.
Why This Work Matters to Me
After years of working in the compassion cultivation space and alongside youth, I’ve learned something profound: compassion isn’t fragile. It’s not passive. It’s the most powerful, strategic, and revolutionary force we have.
And still, too many young leaders are working in isolation, carrying enormous responsibility without enough support. This conference is a commitment to change that—to create space for learning and community—because compassionate leadership cannot happen alone.
We are living in an age of overlapping crises - genocide, climate collapse, inequality, and war. As we gather this year, we hold in our hearts the ongoing genocide in Palestine and the immeasurable suffering of its people, a reminder that compassion must never be neutral and that our collective action matters more than ever.
I’ve seen firsthand how young people around the world are responding with creativity, conviction, and compassion. That’s what gives me hope. That’s what we at the Charter aspire for this conference to be: a space that embodies compassionate leadership in action.

A Personal Invitation
This conference is a space to reconnect with purpose. To be seen, heard, and reminded that hope is still alive in community. It is an invitation to youth and to those of us who walk beside youth to listen deeply, to learn, and to reimagine what leadership looks like when it is rooted in compassion.
I hope you will join us.
