Creating a Sacred Circle for Brigid — Awakening the Flame of Peace

We begin World Interfaith Harmony Week by gathering in a sacred circle dedicated to Our Lady Brigid, an ancient and beloved figure whose presence bridges pre-Christian traditions and Christian spirituality. Honored as a Goddess, Saint, poet, healer, and peacemaker, Brigid embodies the enduring human values of compassion, creativity, renewal, and peace.

Our gathering is inspired by Brigid’s Day Devotion on February 1st, a time traditionally associated with the return of light, the stirring of new life, and the rekindling of hope. Together, we will honor Brigid through simple devotional practices, including the lighting of the flame, symbolizing warmth, protection, and the light of peace within and among us.

Through prayers, poems, stories, and songs, we will reflect on Brigid’s legacy as a Universal figure of peace and care for the Earth, and we will join a Global Pause for Peace, answering the call from the people of Kildare, Ireland, Brigid’s ancient home. This shared moment of silence connects us across continents and traditions in a collective intention for healing and harmony.

This sacred circle is offered in the spirit of openness and reverence. All are welcome, whether you come from an Earth-based spiritual path, another faith tradition, or simply with a desire to pause, reflect, and awaken the heart.
