* * *

This closing gathering of World Interfaith Harmony Week invites participants into the living spiritual practice of SiSiWiss (pronounced See-See-Wiss), an Indigenous medicine way rooted in the Pacific Northwest Coast. The word SiSiWiss is often translated into English as sacred breath or sacred life, reflecting a deep understanding of breath as the source of vitality, connection, and healing.

SiSiWiss spiritual practice originates from the San Juan Islands and has been carried through generations across western Washington State, extending south to Siletz, Oregon, and northward to the Gulf Islands, Vancouver Island, and coastal regions of British Columbia, Canada. It is understood not as a belief system, but as a medicine path—a way of restoring balance through relationship with breath, song, story, rhythm, and community.

Guided by SiSwinKlae Laurel Boucher, this interactive medicine circle invites participants into a shared experience of singing, drumming, storytelling, and presence. These practices are offered as living expressions of sacred breath—awakening connection to self, community, ancestors, and the natural world.

Participants are welcome to bring a traditional drum or rattle if they wish, or simply to listen, witness, and participate in ways that feel appropriate and respectful. No prior experience is needed—only a willingness to be present and to enter the circle with an open heart.

This gathering offers a powerful and grounding close to the week, reminding us that sacred space is created through relationship, rhythm, breath, and shared life.

EHychka (Thank you). All are welcome.
