AI Journey for Peace: Algorethics, Agency, Future

December 2–4, 2026 | Rome, Italy

The Charter for Compassion is honored to support the upcoming 20th World Summit of Nobel Peace Laureates, taking place December 2–4, 2026, in Rome.

At a moment when artificial intelligence is rapidly reshaping communication, education, economic life, international security, and even the nature of warfare, the Summit will bring together Nobel Peace Laureates, global leaders, educators, young people, peacebuilders, technology experts, and civil society organizations to consider an urgent question:

How can artificial intelligence be guided toward peace, human dignity, and the common good?
Under the theme AI Journey for Peace: Algorethics, Agency, Future, the Summit will explore the ethical governance of artificial intelligence, the protection of human agency, the dangers of autonomous and digitally enabled conflict, and the responsibility to ensure that technology remains accountable to humanity.

The idea of algorethics asks us to consider not only what artificial intelligence can do, but what it should do—and who must remain responsible for the decisions it influences.

For the Charter for Compassion, this conversation is deeply connected to our commitment to common humanity. Technology is never separate from human values. It can deepen inequality and division, or it can support education, healing, cooperation, and peace. The direction it takes will depend upon the ethical choices we make together.

The Summit reminds us that peace in the age of artificial intelligence will require more than technical innovation. It will require moral imagination, compassionate leadership, international cooperation, and the courage to place human dignity at the center of our shared future.
