Charter for Compassion to Launch 'Charter for Compassion 2.0'
Charter for Compassion to Launch “Charter for Compassion 2.0” with Global Webinar on November 12, 2025
Seattle, WA — September 2025 — The Charter for Compassion will launch Charter for Compassion 2.0 — A Charter for Compassionate Transformation: From Inner Healing to Planetary Flourishing in a landmark one-hour webinar on Wednesday, November 12, 2025, broadcast at 7:00 am PT and again at 4:00 pm PT to accommodate a global audience.
This special event will unveil a bold new chapter in the Charter’s story, weaving together storytelling, music, archival footage, and voices from across the globe.
Participants will:
- Revisit the Charter’s beginnings through the visionary words of Karen Armstrong, the support of TED and the Fetzer Institute, and the grassroots voices that gave it life.
- Hear the original Charter for Compassion, the foundation that continues to inspire cities, schools, and organizations worldwide.
- Witness how compassion has taken root in over 55 countries, 600 cities, and 3,000 organizations, brought to life in an animated global story.
- Experience the transformative power of the arts through Charter Ambassador Yael Deckelbaum’s stirring song, War Is Not a Woman’s Game.
- Be present at the unveiling of Charter for Compassion 2.0, recited by a chorus of voices — Charter Board members, staff, and partners — affirming a shared promise to common humanity and care for the Earth.
- Explore the Seven Pillars of Compassionate Action — Education, Health, Arts, Earth & Agriculture, Play & Innovation, Justice, and Spirituality — a living framework guiding the Charter’s global work.
- Conclude with an invitation to action, accompanied by Nimo Patel’s inspiring song Being Kind, as acknowledgments highlight those who have made this movement possible.
“We are deeply grateful to Sue Cooper of Compassionate Nottingham, UK for coordinating and leading the 2.0 project, which has resulted in this new document,” said Marilyn Turkovich, Executive Director of the Charter for Compassion. “This is more than a webinar — it is a global gathering. Charter for Compassion 2.0 is not a replacement of the original, but its deepening — a bold next chapter that honors the past while calling us into the ‘Great Turning’ of our times.”
The event is free and open to all. Find registration details here.
