Collaborative Interfaith Programs

The landscape of global interfaith cooperation is rich and diverse, spanning grassroots movements, humanitarian organizations, academic initiatives, and large-scale convenings. Together, these efforts embody the vision of the Spirituality, Love, and Hope Pillar, showing how compassion can unite people across traditions to serve humanity and the earth.

Global Convening and Peacebuilding Networks

  • Parliament of the World’s Religions – Convening since 1893, the Parliament brings together thousands of participants from across the globe to explore shared spiritual values and address urgent challenges such as climate change, justice, and human rights.
     
  • Religions for Peace – The largest and most representative multi-religious coalition, active in over 90 countries, mobilizing faith communities for conflict resolution, humanitarian response, disarmament, and sustainable development.
     
  • United Religions Initiative (URI) – A grassroots network with Cooperation Circles in over 110 countries, URI empowers local groups to work across lines of faith and culture to tackle community challenges and build peace.
     
  • Spirit of Humanity Forum – Hosted by the Brahma Kumaris and partners, this forum highlights the role of love, compassion, and hope in leadership, systems change, and global renewal.

 

Education, Youth, and Civic Engagement

  • Interfaith America (formerly Interfaith Youth Core) – Founded by Eboo Patel, this initiative partners with universities, civic institutions, and communities to strengthen interfaith cooperation in democracy, emphasizing youth leadership and service.
     
  • Ta’atheer – Arab Youth Center for Empowerment and Development (Jordan) – Unites young people of diverse faiths around projects in social change, economic empowerment, and peacebuilding.
     
  • The Abraham Path Initiative – Builds intercultural understanding through walking trails retracing the journey of Abraham across the Middle East, fostering hospitality, dialogue, and local economic development.

 

Spiritual and Grassroots Movements

  • Sarvodaya Shramadana Movement (Sri Lanka) – A community-based movement rooted in Buddhist principles that engages people of all faiths in development projects spanning education, healthcare, and disaster relief.
     
  • Brahma Kumaris World Spiritual University – Promotes interfaith dialogue, meditation, and programs on sustainable living and inner peace.
     
  • Elijah Interfaith Institute (Jerusalem) – Brings together global religious leaders and scholars for learning, friendship, and dialogue across traditions.

 

Humanitarian and Development-Oriented Organizations

  • Joint Aid Management (JAM) – A faith-collaborative humanitarian organization working across Africa to provide food, water, and development support to vulnerable communities.
