The Charter for Compassion (CFC) is dedicated to empowering grassroots teams in building Compassionate Communities—places where people are moved by empathy to take compassionate action.
While many community-building efforts focus on well-being—improving healthcare, reducing crime, strengthening economic opportunities, and fostering resilience—the Charter’s approach is distinct in its perspective and intention. Our framework centers on addressing pain and suffering wherever it occurs, not only within our own communities but also for people and living beings everywhere.
To support this mission, CFC has developed a four-phase model for creating Compassionate Communities. This model provides structure and tools for individuals and groups eager to foster compassion in their cities, towns, and regions.
In this 90-minute session, we will:
✓ Introduce the four phases of building a Compassionate Community
✓ Share practical tools to help you get started or expand your efforts
✓ Explore how the Charter’s initiatives—such as the Toolbox for Compassionate Communities, the annual 40-Day Beloved Community Legacy of Martin Luther King Jr., and our compassion-strengthening courses—can support your work
Whether you’re just beginning or already leading a Compassionate Community effort, this session will provide valuable insights and resources.
We invite you to register to one of four online meet-ups happening April 7–10, each scheduled to accommodate different global time zones.
You can check the time in your timezone here.
