Magdalena Whoolery
Magdalena Whoolery is a Nurse with a PhD in Health Studies from Brunel University, specialized in the care of Homeless People with Tuberculosis (TB), and developed the theory of Survivalizing. She worked in the National Health Service (UK) and with various NGO’s following the 2004 tsunami in Indonesia, as well as UNICEF.
In 2013, Magdalena founded Botho Compassion Movement - Botswana, empowering communities to nurture compassion. The movement developed a network of organizations through the Charter for Compassion and conducted capacity building and compassion events. Botswana become the first nation to sign the Charter for Compassion.
She has worked for the World Health Organization - Timor-Leste, in improving maternal-child health, and infant-young child feeding. Over the last decade, in her voluntary capacity, Magdalena has worked in international emergency responses, providing technical and hands on assistance on the ground, developed global resources and prevented human rights violations by infamous, predatory multinationals, and their powerful lobby groups, who constantly undermine maternal and child survival for profit. Using the human rights tool of the International Code of Marketing, she works to protect women and children from this Multi-Billion USD industry.
Magdalena is passionate about compassion, and the survival and thriving of our most vulnerable citizens. Recently Magdalena has moved to Pakistan with her husband Scott, and 4 children, Marli, Brixton, Alia and Huxley.
