2025 Compassionate Youth Award Recipient: Talibah Abdul-Wahid, MPA
We are proud to recognize our inaugural Compassionate Youth Award recipient Talibah Abdul-Wahid, MPA, honored at the Charter for Compassion Global Youth Conference 2025 for their outstanding commitment to compassionate leadership and positive social impact.
Talibah Abdul-Wahid, MPA, is a compassionate leader, advocate, and law student dedicated to advancing equity and inclusion through service and community empowerment. For Talibah, leadership is rooted in compassion and creating space for others to feel seen, supported, and safe. As a survivor of domestic violence and someone who deeply connects with the stories of others, they view leadership as reaching a hand back while moving forward, ensuring that even the most marginalized voices are heard and uplifted.
A lifelong advocate for social impact, Talibah has served as a foster parent to children in crisis, including five young women during the COVID-19 pandemic, offering stability and care during a time of uncertainty. In their Westside Las Vegas neighborhood, they founded mentorship, financial literacy, and scholarship programs for low-income, first-generation college students, helping build pathways to higher education and generational opportunity.
In law school, Talibah has completed over 300 hours of pro bono legal service for low-income individuals while fostering a culture of belonging among their peers. Through initiatives that celebrate milestones, promote well-being, and strengthen student connections, they continue to lead with empathy and intention. Talibah’s work embodies the belief that compassionate leadership and diversity go hand in hand, understanding that true progress is built through small, consistent acts of care that remind people they matter and deserve to be seen.
