Bedoubag

Bedoubags are woven in traditional Bedouin patterns on the ground loom by women working from home so they can take care of their families. With your acquisition you revive a centuries old weaving tradition; give local women in the area of Petra a chance to support their families and inspire girls to learn a craft. Each bag is unique, is woven with a woolen thread or a recycled thread and bares the creative signature of the woman who crafted it. All revenues go to the project in the form of designs, materials, training and promotion. The organization is managed by Sandra Jelly, an artist, designer and horse coach from Amsterdam with a background in business economics and advertising. She followed her passions for painting and horses, fell in love with Jordan and started making bags in 2010 in order to share her talents with the local community and empower women.
