Mission Statement
Our mission is to be a "voice" for minorities within the Northwest Arkansas Community. We strive to educate, entertain, and provide our audience a diverse reflection of music and issues that have been under- represented by other media. The Voice of Diversity (VOD) is committed to enriching the lives of its listeners by presenting material that will encourage new insights and expand awareness.
Objectives
*Communicate local/world news to the Northwest Arkansas community we serve.
*Improve the understanding of important issues affecting the minority community.
*Provide minorities in the Fayetteville, Arkansas region with an avenue for networking and exchanging of information within the community.
*Serve as an educational source that provides programing geared towards the improvement of the lives of minorities in the community.
*Promote growth and development through the sharing of information related to local opportunities for citizens not currently being served by local radio.
Purpose
The fundamental purpose of the Voice of Diversity organization is to be a positive voice for African Americans in the Fayetteville area. Our goal is to both educate and resolve challenges that minorities face through the use of radio. We will provide valuable information about education, finances, health, and other issues applicable to the African American community. The Voice of Diversity organization is located in Fayetteville, Arkansas. According to the 2012 U.S. Census estimate, Fayetteville, Arkansas has a population of 76,899 people. The population of African-Americans in the city of Fayetteville, Arkansas is approximately 4,614 or 6%. This application therefore comes as a result of having no local radio stations in Fayetteville, Arkansas that offers programming that targets African American audiences.
